With over 30 years of experience in the dietary supplement industry, Chad Brey has formulated hundreds of dietary supplements since 1997, providing expertise in product development, formulation, and R&D sample preparation. Chad is the founder of The Vitamin Chemist Inc., a specialized formulation consultancy.

Chad leverages his deep scientific background and industry knowledge to assist startups and established brands in ideation, formulation, and product development processes. His comprehensive expertise includes formulation dossiers, design of experiment documentation, raw material sourcing assistance, and prototype creation, streamlining the journey from concept to market for dietary supplement brands.

Chad’s expertise spans all delivery forms such as capsules, tablets, powders, gummies, liquids, gels, and tinctures. He possesses in-depth knowledge of ingredient interactions, stability considerations, flavor development, and emerging industry trends. His scientific approach combines anecdotal evidence with clinical data to create effective, market-ready formulations that meet specific health objectives.

Chad honed his chemistry skills at companies including Amgen, where he performed research and development on Enbrel and other small and large molecules; Baxter, where he conducted qualitative analysis on globular proteins and antibodies; and Nusil Technology, where he served as a Senior Chemist and Certified Polymer Chemistry Instructor. His educational background includes a degree in Biochemistry from California State University, Northridge, where he conducted research on the characteristics of phospholipids in cell membranes, contributing to a peer-reviewed publication. Chad also holds certifications in Dietary Supplements and Homeopathic & Botanical Studies from Huntington University of Health Sciences.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Chad enjoys sharing his knowledge with clients and building long-term relationships within the supplement industry from his lab in Bakersfield, California.
